Italy’s national team goalkeeper and captain Gianluigi Donnarumma spoke about the team’s prospects for qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reports Idman.Biz.
“This Italy team will definitely make it to the next World Cup. I have no doubts,” Donnarumma told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “When you feel Gattuso behind you, it’s as if he’s supporting you every minute of the match. Our coach values communication - he talks to us a lot, explains everything. He quickly restored our strong collective identity.”
The Italian national team has already secured a place in the World Cup qualifying play-offs. After six matches, Italy sits second in Group I with 15 points, while Norway leads with 18 points.
