Tadej Pogacar won his fourth Tour de France title on Sunday, solidifying his place among cycling’s greats by equaling Britain’s Chris Froome with four overall victories.
Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that the 26-year-old Slovenian, champion in 2020, 2021, and 2024, delivered a near-perfect campaign, sealing the win with dominant performances in the Pyrenees and an impressive time trial. “Just speechless to win a fourth Tour. This one feels especially amazing,” said Pogacar, who has now stood on the podium six years in a row.
Though times were neutralized due to heavy rain during the final stage, Pogacar still pushed hard in Paris but was out-sprinted by Belgian Wout van Aert, who claimed the stage win. Pogacar finished fourth on the day, behind Davide Ballerini and Matej Mohoric.
Chief rival Jonas Vingegaard, winner in 2022 and 2023, finished second overall, trailing Pogacar by 4 minutes and 24 seconds.
