4 wrestlers from Azerbaijan fought on the mat and three of them won medals. Khasay Hatamli (77 kg) won silver, Farid Sadikhli (55 kg) and Sarkhan Mammadov (130 kg) won bronze medals.

Farid Sadikhli wrestled for a bronze medal. He challenged Mihai Florin (Romania) and won 10:0.
63 kg
Ziya Babashov met Yurik Hoveyan (Armenia) in a consolation match. The match ended with a score of 2:2, and the competing athlete who won the last point continued to fight for bronze.
77 kg
Khasay Hasanli went to the final fight. Hasanli wrestled with Alexandrin Gutu from Moldova in the final. The match ended with a 3:1 victory of Gutu.
130 kg
Sarkhan Mammadov will compete with Apostolos Tsiovolos (Greece) in the fight for the 3rd place. Mammadov won the bronze medal in the World Championship by winning a clear victory over his opponent.
Earlier, one of the Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers, Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg) qualified to the 3rd step of the victory podium in the competition.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team won 11 medals at the World Championship. Ziraddin Bayramov (65 kg), Ashraf Ashirov (79 kg), Kanan Heybatov (70 kg), Abduljalil Shabanov (92 kg) and Vahit Galayev (125 kg) won bronze medals at the World Cup. Jala Aliyeva (57 kg) and Elnura Mammadova (50 kg) took the 3rd place in the World Championship.
