The European Champion fighting in the 77 kg weight class evaluated his performance in the first competition of the year Zagreb Open held in Croatia. He said that in the tournament where he won the gold medal, all his main competitors fought: "Only 1 or 2 people were missing. Despite this, I won all my opponents and became the champion. Literally, there was strong and real competition in the competition. That is why in each of my 5 matches one was difficult. In general, there are no easy opponents in this weight class. Each wrestler who competes has his own fighting style and it was difficult at times. Some matches were very important for me to get a rematch. I am happy that I got the revenge I needed. I believe that I will continue this at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games".
Suleymanov aimed to climb to the top of the podium at the European Championship in February. The owner of the license to Paris-2024 said that he wants to confirm that he is the strongest on the continent.
The finalist of the World Championship also commented on the congratulatory message of the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov. He noted that seeing such attention makes him happy, like every athlete: "Because when you succeed, the congratulations of the leaders are more important and encouraging."
