Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has made history by becoming the first player from the German club in 45 years to win the Ballon d'Or.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the England international topped the 2026 voting ahead of Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.
The last Bayern Munich player to receive the prestigious individual award was Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981. Before him, three other Ballon d'Or trophies had been won by Bayern players: Gerd Muller claimed the prize in 1970, while Franz Beckenbauer was honored in 1972 and 1976.
Kane's triumph also marks a significant milestone for German football. He becomes the first Bundesliga player in 30 years to win the award, ending a drought dating back to 1996.
The Englishman's victory brings the Bundesliga's all-time Ballon d'Or tally to 10, making it the third most successful league in the history of the award.
Only Spain's La Liga, whose players have won 24 Ballon d'Or trophies, and Italy's Serie A, with 18, have produced more winners.
Kane's success also adds another chapter to Bayern Munich's history, placing him alongside some of the club's greatest legends.
