Mourinho takes revenge on Flick nearly seven years after Champions League defeat

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has taken revenge on Barcelona manager Hansi Flick nearly seven years after their previous meeting.

As reported by İdman.Biz, Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1 away from home in the 10th round of La Liga on October 25, with Kylian Mbappe scoring both goals.

Interestingly, the two coaches had previously faced each other on December 11, 2019, in the final round of the UEFA Champions League group stage. On that occasion, Flick's Bayern Munich defeated Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 at home.

Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller and Philippe Coutinho scored for the German champions, while Ryan Sessegnon netted Tottenham's only goal.

Thus, six years and ten months later, Mourinho finally managed to take revenge on his German counterpart.

The two managers are now level in their head-to-head record, with one victory each from their two meetings.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid's El Clasico triumph reduced the gap to La Liga leaders Barcelona to three points.
