The Georgian winger is expected to undergo surgery early this week after suffering a serious knee injury against Barcelona in the Champions League
Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is expected to undergo surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) early this week, according to French newspaper L'Équipe.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the exact date of the procedure has yet to be confirmed, but the operation is scheduled to take place at Aspetar, a renowned sports medicine hospital in Qatar.
The Georgian international sustained the injury to his right knee during PSG's 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the third round of the UEFA Champions League league phase. He was forced to leave the pitch in the 59th minute.
An ACL rupture is among the most serious injuries in professional football and typically requires several months of rehabilitation. Depending on the severity of the injury and the player's recovery, a return to competitive action can take between six and 12 months.
Kvaratskhelia joined PSG in 2025 and remains under contract with the French champions until June 2029.
The 25-year-old has made 11 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
His prolonged absence could represent a significant setback for PSG as the club continues its domestic campaign and pursuit of success in the Champions League.
