Barcelona president Joan Laporta has declared his ambition to maintain the club's dominance in Spanish football while targeting UEFA Champions League glory this season.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing The Touchline, the Catalan club's president emphasized that Barcelona's recent success has been built on hard work, discipline and a responsible approach.
"Barcelona dominate because we work very hard and approach everything with responsibility and discipline. That is why we have won La Liga three times in the last four years. Our goal is to continue dominating Spanish football," Laporta said.
The Barcelona president also made it clear that the club's ambitions extend beyond domestic competitions, with European success remaining a major priority.
"We also want to dominate European football. This year, we have set ourselves the goal of winning the Champions League trophy, which we have not managed to lift in recent years," he added.
Barcelona have not won Europe's most prestigious club competition since 2015, when they defeated Juventus 3-1 in the final in Berlin.
The Catalan giants have experienced mixed fortunes in the Champions League in recent seasons, reaching the semifinals and quarterfinals in their previous two campaigns, respectively.
With five European Cup and Champions League titles to their name, Barcelona are now determined to end their long wait for a sixth continental crown.
