Real Madrid are exploring the possibility of signing 15-year-old Sporting Lisbon midfielder Jacobo Afonso in the coming months, according to ESPN.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Spanish giants have been closely monitoring the youngster's development, with the club's scouts reportedly impressed by his potential.
Afonso has attracted attention for his physical attributes, ability to carry the ball forward and willingness to join attacking moves from deeper midfield positions.
According to the report, Real Madrid could attempt to secure the talented midfielder's signature in the near future as part of their strategy to recruit promising young players.
The 15-year-old holds both Spanish and Portuguese citizenship and currently represents Spain at youth international level.
Football also runs in his family, as his father, Nuno Afonso, is a former professional player who previously represented several clubs, including Benfica.
Any potential move would need to comply with FIFA regulations governing international transfers of minors.
