Arsenal consider €80 million January move for Raphinha

Arsenal could make an attempt to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha during the winter transfer window.

İdman.Biz reports that the London club are considering an offer of approximately €80 million (AZN 158 million) for the 29-year-old Brazilian. According to the report, head coach Mikel Arteta views Raphinha's ability to operate on either wing and in various attacking positions as one of his main strengths.

Arsenal were unable to reinforce their attack to the desired extent during the summer transfer window. The club showed interest in players such as Julian Alvarez and Vinicius Junior, but neither move materialized. Meanwhile, the departures of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have reduced Arteta's options in the attacking department.

Raphinha has made a highly productive start to the new season. The Brazilian has scored six goals and provided one assist in Barcelona's opening four La Liga matches, establishing himself as one of the Catalan club's most dangerous attacking players.

However, completing the transfer is unlikely to be straightforward. Raphinha remains a key member of Barcelona's squad, and there is currently no indication that the club would be willing to sell him for €80 million midway through the season.

Arsenal have previously pursued the Brazilian. The London club attempted to sign Raphinha in 2022, but he ultimately chose to join Barcelona from Leeds United. His Premier League experience and versatility could make him an attractive option for Arteta if Arsenal decide to strengthen their attack in January.
