The 10th Azerbaijan Trampoline Gymnastics Championships and the 22nd National Tumbling Championships were held on October 21, bringing together young athletes from various age groups.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, participants demonstrated their skills in individual and synchronised events while competing for national titles.
In trampoline gymnastics, athletes competed in four age categories: pre-juniors (born in 2016–2018), children (2014–2015), adolescents (2012–2013) and juniors (2010–2011).
The tumbling competitions featured male and female gymnasts in three age categories: children (2016–2018), adolescents (2014–2015) and juniors (2010–2013).
Several members of Azerbaijan's national gymnastics teams delivered impressive performances and secured podium finishes.
In trampoline gymnastics, Omar Gasimli claimed the gold medal, Muhammad Hasanli took silver, and Melissa Ismikhanova earned bronze.
In tumbling, Sanan Rzazade emerged as the champion, while Ilham Masimov finished second and Riad Javadov secured third place.
All winners and medalists were presented with medals and certificates.
The championships also featured exhibition performances by national team members preparing for the upcoming World Age Group Competitions.
Ayan Shabanova, Shafiga Humbatova, Mehdi Aliyev, Nijat Mirzayev and Ali Niftaliyev performed individual routines.
In the synchronised events, Shafiga Humbatova and Ayan Shabanova competed in the women's programme, while Nijat Mirzayev and Mehdi Aliyev demonstrated their skills in the men's event.
The national championships play an important role in developing young gymnasts by providing valuable competitive experience, improving technical skills and identifying promising athletes.
