La Liga president Javier Tebas has stated that he now considers Saudi Arabia an appropriate venue for hosting the Spanish Super Cup, İdman.Biz reports.
“I did not criticise the decision to move the Super Cup out of Spain, I thought it was a good idea. I said that maybe Saudi Arabia was not the right country, but after several visits I believe it is a very suitable place. At that time I was critical and thought it was not the right country, but I have changed my opinion. It is a very suitable country,” Tebas said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish Super Cup final between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place on January 11 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Kick-off is scheduled for 23:00 Baku time.
