Azerbaijani weightlifter Muhammadali Mammadzada won two silver medals at the U-15 and youth European Championships held in Madrid, Spain.
According to the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation, on the last day of the competition, the athlete competed in the U-15 category in the 88 kg weight class and lifted 122 kg in the snatch, earning second place on the podium, Idman.biz reports.
In the clean and jerk, he lifted 147 kg overhead. Thus, with a total of 269 kg from both lifts, the athlete secured the silver medal.
Another Azerbaijani competitor in the same weight category, Aykhan Mammadov, finished 6th in the European Championship with a total of 218 kg (102+116).
