Turkish opposite hitter Ebrar Karakurt has officially ended her time in the Russian Volleyball Championship.
The 25-year-old athlete had been playing for the women’s team Lokomotiv Kaliningrad since June 2023, Idman.biz reports.
The club shared a heartfelt farewell message on social media:
“Thank you, Ebi, with all our hearts—for your brilliant performance, the victories you helped us achieve, the league gold medal, and the Russian Cup! For your passion and love for the fans!
Ebi, you became a true gem of Russian women’s volleyball, making it more vibrant and exciting.
We won’t say goodbye—we’ll say ‘see you again.’
Wishing you success in your future career. You'll always be welcome at Loko.”
Karakurt played a key role in helping Lokomotiv win both the 2025 Russian Super League and the Russian Cup, and was a silver medalist in the 2024 season. She is also a Champions League winner with VakıfBank and a Nations League champion with the Turkish national team.
