Azerbaijani volleyball club Murov Az Terminal have strengthened their squad with the signing of Brazilian opposite hitter Matheus Araujo.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the club has officially announced the arrival of the 34-year-old player, who will represent Murov Az Terminal during the 2026/27 season.
Standing 198 cm tall, Araujo was born on September 10, 1992. He spent last season with Azerbaijani club Ordu, helping the team secure silver medals in the national championship. During the 2024/25 campaign, he played for Neftchi.
The experienced Brazilian has enjoyed an extensive international career, representing clubs in Brazil, Qatar, Lebanon, Portugal, Greece and Lithuania.
Among his notable achievements are winning the Lithuanian championship and national cup in the 2023/24 season. He also claimed a bronze medal in the Azerbaijan Cup during the 2024/25 campaign.
With his experience across several national leagues and previous success in Azerbaijani volleyball, Araujo is expected to strengthen Murov Az Terminal's attacking options ahead of the new season.
