"Turan is getting stronger and stronger. I think the team will continue to improve as time goes on."
The 31-year-old Turan volleyball player Lee Da-young said this in an interview with İdman.Biz.
The South Korean player believes that the team's main goal at the moment is to become united, and that this will give the club strong prospects in both the Azerbaijan Championship and the CEV Champions League.
"Since the season hasn't started yet, it's difficult to predict the results. But in my opinion, the most important thing is to help and trust each other and become one team. If we can build that unity, I believe we can become a truly strong team and achieve good results in both the national championship and the Champions League," she said.
The setter also explained why she accepted the offer from the Tovuz-based club.
"I wanted to challenge myself and test my abilities in the Azerbaijan Championship. I already knew a little about this league and wanted to gain new experience in a different environment."
The reigning Azerbaijan champions also signed her twin sister, Lee Jae-young. According to Lee Da-young, they received separate offers.
"Each of us thought about the situation and made our own decision. Then we discussed it together and realized that this season could be our last one playing for the same team. That's why the opportunity to play together again makes this season special for us."
The volleyball player also added that they have adapted well to the team, saying they were warmly welcomed and surrounded by care, support and attention.
It should be noted that Turan is currently holding a training camp in Italy as part of its preparations for the upcoming season. The club will begin its CEV Champions League campaign in the second qualifying round. The first match will be played in Tovuz on October 20, when the Azerbaijani champions will face Croatia's Mladost Zagreb.
