Azerbaijani triathlete Teymur Farajov has set a new national record at the European Triathlon Championship held in Hamburg, Germany.
Athletes from Azerbaijan's Triterra club completed the demanding “Ironman” distance successfully, with Farajov achieving a milestone time of 9 hours, 27 minutes, and 22 seconds, Idman.biz reports.
Coached by Oleksandr Mordasov, he completed 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of road cycling, and a 42.2 km classic marathon, marking the fastest-ever time by an Azerbaijani triathlete at this distance.
Another Azerbaijani participant, Samir Javadov, also completed the race with a time of 11 hours, 29 minutes, and 59 seconds, finishing respectably in a grueling test of endurance.
This achievement highlights Azerbaijan’s growing presence in international triathlon competitions and sets a high benchmark for future athletes.
