The first winner of the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon event in Baku has been determined, Idman.Biz reports.
Croatia's Matej Jukic outpaced all his rivals to become the first athlete to cross the finish line.
He completed the 113-km course, consisting of swimming, cycling and running stages, in 4 hours, 1 minute and 20 seconds.
More than 1,500 participants from 62 countries are competing in IRONMAN 70.3 Baku.
The top 25 male and female athletes at the event will qualify for the 2027 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in the United States.
The competition is organised by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Triathlon Federation and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.
