The Azerbaijan Triathlon Federation (ATF) held a presentation for the country’s first-ever international “Ironman 70.3 Baku” race, Idman.biz reports.

The event, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, was attended by Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov, ATF President Farid Farhadzade, Ironman Group EMEA Vice President and CEO Thomas Veje Olsen, EMEA representatives Alberto Garrica and Henrik Brovell, and Nurlan Abduov, the exclusive Ironman license holder for the CIS.

The race is scheduled for September 5–6, 2026, and will include the “Ironman 70.3,” “Fun Run 5 km,” and “Ironkids” events.

The 1.9-kilometer swimming stage will take place along the Caspian Sea coast, followed by a 90-kilometer cycling stage over two laps, and a three-lap running half-marathon totaling 21.1 kilometers.

From September 4–6, residents and visitors will enjoy an entertainment program and the “Ironman EXPO” area, where official Ironman merchandise and other sports equipment will be available.
