Cameron Norrie falls to world number 99 as Osaka and Swiatek advance in Canada

British number two Cameron Norrie crashed out of the Canadian Open after a surprise second-round loss to world number 99 Aleksandar Vukic.

Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that Norrie, 29, lost 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 6-3 to the Australian in a match disrupted by rain and marked by health concerns, as he had his blood pressure checked during the second set. Despite forcing a decider, Norrie missed all three break points in the third set.

Meanwhile, in the women's event in Montreal, world number three Iga Swiatek returned to action with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win over Chinese qualifier Guo Hanyu. Naomi Osaka staged a thrilling comeback against 13th seed Liudmila Samsonova, saving match points to win 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3. This marks her first top-20 win since January.

Now under new coach Tomasz Wiktorowski, Osaka ended a four-match losing streak in three-setters and will meet Jelena Ostapenko next. British number one Emma Raducanu is set to play Peyton Stearns on Wednesday.
