Today marks the second day of qualifying at the Australian Open.
As reported by İdman.Biz, matches of the year’s first Grand Slam are being held across several courts at Melbourne Park. One of them is Rod Laver Arena, named after one of the greatest Australian tennis players. Laver is the only player to have won the calendar Grand Slam twice, capturing all four major titles in a single year in 1962 and 1969.
During one of the matches, Elena Rybakina, who previously reached the final in Melbourne, and Italy’s Jasmine Paolini took to the court. Both players promised to showcase strong tennis in the main draw and thanked the fans for their support.
