The Azerbaijani national youth taekwondo team is set to compete in the upcoming President Cup to be held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
The team will be led by head coach Rashad Mammadov and coach Aykhan Taghizade, with 10 athletes representing Azerbaijan in the four-day competition, which begins today, Idman.biz reports.
The tournament will also feature Azerbaijani officials, with Aygul Abdullayeva, Deputy Chair of the Referee Committee of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation (ATF), and Elshad Mammadov serving as referees.
This event serves as a preparatory tournament for the 18th European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF), scheduled to take place July 20–26 in Skopje, North Macedonia, and Osijek, Croatia.
