Azerbaijani rower Tatyana Smilovenko expressed her joy at being among the top athletes at the European Championship held in Romania.
Idman.biz, citing Report news agency, reports: “There are a lot of emotions — both positive and somewhat mixed, as I could have achieved an even better result. I'm happy I had the chance to prove myself in the 500-meter race. I thank my coaches for the result. The European Championship is always tough, but the most important thing is to win a medal.”
Smilovenko highlighted the level of competition: “My opponents were world-class and very strong. I’m glad I was among the best. To achieve better results, I need to analyze and address the areas where I fell short.”
Her main goal is to qualify for the Olympic Games: “But for now, I need to assess my current performance and continue competing successfully in international tournaments.”
Tatyana Smilovenko won a bronze medal at the European Championship.
