The Open Baku Rowing Championship for juniors and youth has been held, jointly organized by the Baku City Youth and Sports Department and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation.
The competition brought together nearly 100 athletes from Baku and Mingachevir, Idman.biz reports.
In accordance with the event regulations, rowers competed in kayak (K1 and K2), as well as canoe and academic rowing (single sculls) over a 500-meter distance.
The event featured intense competition, and the winners were awarded diplomas and medals for their performance.
The main goals of the Open Baku Championship and similar domestic events are to assess the athletes’ current preparation level and to identify promising rowers for selection into the national youth team.
