The Canoe World Cup has officially kicked off in Szeged, Hungary, with Azerbaijan represented by a single athlete.
National canoeist Tatyana Smilovenko began her campaign in the women’s 500m event today, Idman.biz reports.
Competing in Heat 3, she finished the race in 2 minutes 11.54 seconds, securing 4th place and qualifying for the semifinals. The semifinal round is scheduled to take place later today.
Tatyana will return to the start line tomorrow for the 200m event as she continues her participation in the tournament, which runs through May 18.
