Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games continue.
Three more weight classes have been started in the wrestling competitions today, per Idman.biz.
In women's freestyle, the first matches are held in one category. Mariya Stadnik, the only representative of Azerbaijan in this category, tried to conquer Olympics in her 5th attempt.
Women's Freestyle 50 kg
Mariya Stadnik, double silver and double bronze medalist Olympic Games, started the competition from the 1/8 finals. Her first opponent was Anastasia Blayvas (Germany). Stadnik finished the meeting with a confident victory by defeating the German wrestler with a score of 6:2 and qualified for the quarterfinals. The Azerbaijani wrestler fought with Otgonjargal Dolgorjav (Mongolia) in her second match. The intense match ended with a score of 4:4. Tie break criteria was the highest value of hold.
Mariya clinched silver in London 2012 and Rio 2016, and bronze in Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020.
