Half of Azerbaijan’s Olympic wrestling team left for France today.
Idman.biz reports that the Greco-Roman wrestlers - Murad Mammadov (60 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg), Rafig Huseynov (87 kg) and Sabah Shariati (130 kg), as well as our women wrestler Maria Stadnik (50 kg) left for Paris to participate in the Summer Olympic Games.
Officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, coaches, other wrestler s and relatives of Olympians took part in the departure ceremony held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Murad and Sabah will fight on August 5, Sanan and Maria the next day, and Hasrat and Rafig on the 7th of the month.
The freestyle wrestlers, who will perform in the last days of the Olympics, will leave for Paris on August 6.
