There are only three days left until the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
As Idman.biz reports, on the eve of the start, the "Sports Illustrated" publication of the USA announced their predictions about the owners of all 329 medal events.
Possible winners of the prizes to be won by the Azerbaijani national team, which sent their first Olympians to France, have also been revealed. According to the Americans' prediction, Azerbaijan will win two gold medals.
Sports Illustrated believes that both championships will be won in Greco-Roman wrestling. The magazine awarded gold medals to Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg).
Two awards are expected from our freestyle wrestling team. Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) will be satisfied with silver, and Turan Bayramov (74 kg) with bronze.
Sports Illustrated does not think that the Azerbaijani judokas will win gold. Americans believe that Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) will get a silver medal and Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) a bronze medal.
However, this prediction cannot be taken seriously. Nils Stamp from Switzerland in Hidayat's weight and Lukas Krpalek from Czech Republic in Zelym's category made a gross mistake. The Czech, who is a two-time Olympic champion, fights in the heavyweight division.
The Americans claim that we will win a bronze medal in boxing. They expect that Azerbaijan’s national flag bearer Muhammad Abdullayev (+92 kg) will sign this success.
In short, according to the forecast of Sports Illustrated, Azerbaijani athletes will return from Paris with a total of 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
