The European Sumo Championship held in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary has officially concluded.
On the final day of the tournament, four Azerbaijani athletes competed across various weight categories, Idman.biz reports.
In the seniors category, Chingiz Samadov secured a bronze medal in the 100 kg weight class. Notably, Samedov had previously won silver at last year’s continental championship in Loutraki, Greece.
The Azerbaijani team was represented under the auspices of the Association of Japanese Martial Arts and Culture, with participants in the U21, U23, and senior categories. Earlier in the competition, Rasul Mammadzada claimed a silver medal in the U-23 category.
