Farid Gayibov: "The new European Gymnastics competition season kicked off."

he President's Note N° 4 has been published

The head of European Gymnastics (EG), Farid Gayibov, touched on the results of March in the President's Notes column on organization’s official website.

Idman.biz reports that he said that European gymnastics courses were held in the first month of spring.

Gayibov recalled that the session of the Presidential Council in Lausanne and the meeting of the Executive Committee were marked by the discussion of some issues on the agenda: " Last March ran a usual course for European Gymnastics. A regular meeting of the President’s Board in Lausanne (SUI) and online Executive Committee was remembered with discussions of a number of issues on the agenda.

One of the unusual decisions made on March 25, 2024, concerned the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics European Championships.

Unfortunately, there was no other choice than reopening of this event for bidding to the European Gymnastics member Federations due to the ongoing strained situation in Israel, the original host. We are looking for a new Organiser of the Europeans concerned.

The agenda also included projects connected with implementation of the new strategy successfully presented to the Congress last year. Further actions and steps on this strategy are natural issues to be discussed in order to achieve the overall goal.

There were also deliberations on prospective meetings with our affiliated federations to be organised prior to the FIG Authorities’ election at the 85th FIG Congress in Doha (QAT) from 24 to 26 October 2024.

Yesterday, the new European Gymnastics competition season kicked off.

First actors of this season would be those representatives of Gymnastics who fly high in the air just like their hopes. The Portuguese city of Guimaraes will undoubtedly organise the European Championships in Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling at the highest level this week. Following the exciting Olympic Qualifying World Cup series, the athletes are fighting for continental glory.

Then the Continental Field of Play, laying the way through Paris, will be tested for resistance by Artistic gymnasts followed by the representatives of Rhythmic Gymnastics.

I wish all the gymnasts to find their hopes circling in the height of the Eiffel Tower…
… What can be more beautiful for today’s high-performance athlete?
Nothing, I guess…".
