Azerbaijan prepares for EYOF 2025 with 52 athletes – PHOTO

A meeting was held at the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan with athletes and coaches who will participate in the 18th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), to be held in North Macedonia and Croatia.

According to Idman.biz, after a video presentation about EYOF Skopje 2025, the team’s mission leader, Vagif Aliyev, delivered a presentation on preparations for the competition and the Safe Sport guidelines.

He informed participants about the event, which will be held in Skopje and Kumanovo (North Macedonia) and Osijek (Croatia). Aliyev noted that this edition of the festival would be remembered for several innovations, including being hosted in two different countries and three cities, and the addition of new sports disciplines, table tennis, shooting, and taekwondo. He also briefed attendees about the Olympic Village, transportation infrastructure, venues, and safe sport protocols.

Qudrat Safarov, AMADA’s education manager, informed young athletes about current anti-doping regulations, as well as their rights and responsibilities.

EYOF 2025 youth ambassador Narmin Karimova spoke about the cultural and entertainment activities planned during the festival.

The festival will bring together nearly 4,000 young athletes aged 13–18 from 50 countries. Team Azerbaijan will be represented by 52 athletes (28 male, 24 female) across 10 sports: athletics, swimming, judo, taekwondo, table tennis, shooting, badminton, mountain and road cycling, and artistic gymnastics.

The official opening ceremony of the 18th European Youth Olympic Festival will take place on July 20, with the closing ceremony on July 26.
