After four days of intense competition at the Judo World Championships in Budapest, the medal standings have been released — and Azerbaijan has secured a spot among the Top 15 nations.
This achievement comes thanks to Zelim Tckaev, who earned a bronze medal in the men’s 81 kg weight category, Idman.biz reports.
So far, eight sets of medals have been awarded at the championships. Japan leads the standings with an impressive haul of 4 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals. France sits in second place (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), followed by Georgia in third (1 gold, 1 silver).
With more events still to come, Azerbaijan remains in contention to climb even higher in the rankings.
