Two more members of the Azerbaijani national team will step onto the tatami on Day 2 of the tournament, Idman.biz reports.
Men’s
66 kg
Ruslan Pashayev will begin his campaign from the Round of 64, facing Brazil’s Ronald Lima.
Women
52 kg
Gultaj Mammadaliyeva is set to face Sofia Asvesta from Cyprus in her opening Round of 64 match.
It’s worth noting that the Azerbaijani team, represented by 13 judokas at the championships, ended the first day without a medal. Ahmad Yusifov (–60 kg), Leyla Aliyeva, and Konul Aliyeva (both –48 kg) were defeated in their opening bouts.
In addition to individual contests, Azerbaijan will also compete in the mixed team event later in the tournament.
