An open practice of the Azerbaijani national judo team was held.
Almost all judokas of the team preparing for the European Championship participated in the training process, Idman.biz reports.
The gathering of the team is also preparation for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games. After returning from the meeting organized by the European Judo Union in Hungary, the national team started preparations for Baku.
Azerbaijan’s team will be represented by 13 athletes in 9 weights at the European Championship. Men will go to the competition with 9 judokas. Balabay Aghayev, Turan Bayramov (both 60 kg), Yashar Najafov (66 kg), Hidayat Heydarov, Rashid Mammadaliyev (both 73 kg), Zelim Tckaev (81 kg), Murad Fatiyev, Eljan Hajiyev (both 90 kg and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) will fight for medals.
Our women's national team will be represented by 4 athletes at the European Championship. Leyla Aliyeva (48 kg), Gultaj Mammadaliyeva, Aydan Valiyeva (both 52 kg) and Acelya Toprak (57 kg) will compete.
