A new foreign-born athlete has joined Azerbaijan's women's national judo team.
As İdman.Biz was informed by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, 19-year-old Ukrainian-born Hanna Zaytseva has been recruited to the national team.
Competing in the 63 kg weight category, Zaytseva will represent Azerbaijan at the upcoming World Judo Championships in Baku.
Zaytseva won a silver medal at the 2024 Cadet World Championships. She also claimed gold at the Junior European Cup in 2026, as well as at Cadet European Cup events in 2022 and 2023.
The World Judo Championships will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from October 4 to 11.
