Azerbaijan proud to host World Judo Championships, says Rashad Rasullu

"We are proud to host this prestigious championship, where athletes from different countries around the world will compete at the highest level based on the principles of mutual respect and fair play."

As reported by İdman.Biz, Rashad Rasullu, Executive Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF), made the statement during the draw ceremony for the World Judo Championships to be held in Baku.

The AJF official thanked the organisations and individuals involved in preparing the event and wished all athletes success.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, as well as everyone who contributed to the preparation and organisation of the championship for their valuable support," Rasullu said.

"Today's draw marks the final stage before the start of the competition. I wish all athletes good health, successful performances and success on the tatami. We hope you will leave Baku with pleasant impressions of your time here and of Azerbaijan's hospitality."

The World Judo Championships will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from October 4 to 11.
