The draw ceremony for the World Judo Championships, which will be held in Baku from October 4 to 11, has taken place.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the opening opponents of Azerbaijani judokas have been determined following the draw.
In the women's competition, Shafag Hamidova (-48 kg) will face Madagascar's Natasha Razafindrakalo, while Konul Aliyeva (-48 kg) will take on Japan's Wakana Kogo.
Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (-52 kg) will begin against Israel's Gefen Primo, while Khadija Gadashova (-57 kg) will face Kyrgyzstan's Janar Joldosheva.
Anna Zaytseva (-63 kg) will meet the winner of the bout between Pei Chun Yuan of Chinese Taipei and Anna Kriza of Hungary.
Sudaba Aghayeva (-70 kg) will face Spain's Ai Tsunoda-Roustant, while Madina Kaysinova (+78 kg) will compete against Italy's Asya Tavano.
In the men's competition, Balabay Aghayev (-60 kg) will face the winner of the Artyom Kolosov of Belarus vs Dilshod Khalmatov of Ukraine bout. Ahmad Yusifov (-60 kg) will meet the winner of the contest between Bakhram Boturov of Uzbekistan and Tumenjargal Tuvshintur of Mongolia.
Ruslan Pashayev (-66 kg) will face the winner of Serdar Rahimov of Turkmenistan vs Adrian Nieto Chinarro of Spain. Turan Bayramov (-66 kg) will open against Moldova's Radu Izvorianu, while Nizami Imranov (-66 kg) will meet Georgia's Vazha Margvelashvili.
Hidayat Heydarov (-73 kg) will begin his campaign against Kosovo's Akil Gjakova. Rashid Mammadaliyev (-73 kg) will face the winner of the bout between Adil Osmanov of Moldova and Justin Lemire of Canada.
Zelim Tckaev (-81 kg) will meet the winner of Timothy Moysven of South Africa vs Victor Sterpu of Moldova. Omar Rajabli (-81 kg) will face Bahrain's Askerbi Gerbekov, while Vusal Galandarzade (-81 kg) will compete against Bulgaria's Hristo Valkov.
In the -90 kg division, Murad Fatiyev will face the winner of the Yegor Voropayev of Belarus vs Theodoros Tselidis of Greece contest. Eljan Hajiyev (-90 kg) will take on Alexander Knauf of the United States, while Suleyman Shukurov (-90 kg) will face Norway's Cornelius Eylertsen.
Zelim Kotsoiev, competing at -100 kg, will open his campaign against Turkmenistan's Baymyrat Majanov.
In the +100 kg category, Ushangi Kokauri will face Kyrgyzstan's Emirhan Joldoshkazyiev. Kanan Nasibov will meet the winner of the bout between Germany's Losseni Kone and Serbia's Vidak Maljevic, while Jamal Gamzatkhanov will take on Chile's Francisco Solis.
The World Judo Championships will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from October 4 to 11.
