The first day of the EURO and  Azerbaijani judokas with a full set of awards

Azerbaijan's youth judo team won a full set of awards on the first day of the Europe Championship held in The Hague.

İdman.biz notes that the gold medal was won by Nizami Imranov (60 kg), who defeated Jonathan Veksler (Israel) in the final.

Aydin Rzayev (66 kg) lost to Georgian Tengo Zerakashvili in the decisive match and won a silver medal.

Aidan Valiyeva (52 kg) won the bronze medal after defeating Michaela Scakovelli from Italy.

Among the youth, 366 judokas from 43 countries are competing in the EURO.

Azerbaijani judokas Nizami Imranov (60 kg) and Aydin Rzayev (66 kg) reached the finals of the Europe Youth Championship held in The Hague.

İdman.biz notes that Imranov had four matches on the way to the finals and defeated Sebastian Kollar (Hungary), Hristo Hristov (Bulgaria), Ashik Andreyan (Armenia) and Olivier Naert (Belgium). Jonathan Weksler (Israel) will meet Nizami in the final.

In his turn, Rzayev defeated Antonin Dvorachek (Czech Republic), Dani Klachar (Croatia), Boyan Yotov (Bulgaria) and Ibrahim Demirel (Turkey) in the EURO. His opponent will be determined a little later.

Aydan Valiyeva (52 kg) will fight for bronze after losing to Giulia Carney (Italy) in the semi-finals. His opponent will be another Italian - Mikaela Schiakovelli.
