Idman.biz reports that Elnur Mammadov, the head of the sports department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said this at a press conference before the National Equestrian Festival, which will be dedicated to the World Equestrian Championship in Baku and the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
He said that this competition is very important for Azerbaijan: "There are female athletes among the participants. This is a great event to promote equestrian sports and it will coincide with the Victory Day and will be a great holiday to watch this tournament with our family."
The official of the ministry invited everyone to the competition: "I am sure that there will be no problem in the organization. The organization of the Equestrian Federation has always been remembered for its high level."
Vugar Huseynov, head of the Department of Public Relations and Information Assurance of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that they are proud to support such a big event. He said that horse-riding is a sport with great traditions in Azerbaijan: "Azerbaijan is famous all over the world for 2 types of horses - Dilbaz and Qarabag horses." Our country is working on development and increasing its reputation, and we are achieving this. Both breeds of horses are known for their good looks, behavior and beauty. This competition will be very important to restore their fame and re-introduce them in the world."
According to him, his federation has prepared a very good program for the competition: "We think that it will be a better event than we expected."
It should be noted that the national teams of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Poland and Morocco will take part in the Chovgan Championship.
