Nikita Simonov has made a strong start at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Leipzig, Germany.
The Azerbaijani national team gymnast competed in his main discipline – the rings, Idman.biz reports.
The judges awarded his performance a score of 14.033, placing him at the top of the leaderboard.
With this result, Simonov now has a strong chance of qualifying for the final.
At last year’s European Championships, Nikita Simonov won a silver medal in the rings event.
