The European Artistic Gymnastics Championship officially kicks off today in Leipzig, Germany.
Six athletes will represent Azerbaijan at the prestigious competition.
The national team includes World Cup silver medalist Nikita Simonov, along with Ivan Tikhonov, Rasul Ahmadzada, Mansum Safarov, Murad Agarzayev, and Daniz Aliyeva.
The opening day will feature the women’s qualification round.
Gymnasts from 37 countries are taking part in the championship. A total of 165 male and 136 female athletes will compete for top honors.
