Teams from 72 countries, including Azerbaijan, have registered to participate in the Junior World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, next month.
According to Idman.biz, gymnasts will compete for eight sets of awards at the competition, which will be held on June 18-22 - four individual, three group, and also in the team championship.
By the way, there will be no individual all-around competition at the world championship. Gymnasts will compete only in different types, and only one athlete from one country can perform in each exercise.
The initial squad of Azerbaijani team includes ten gymnasts (four individual gymnasts and one group). For now, applications are general in nature, and the names of the participating athletes will be announced later.
Organizing Committee announced that there is a record number of participating teams at the third Junior World Championships. While athletes from 61 countries competed in the first competition held in 2019, this number has reached 60 in 2023, and this figure is expected to be renewed in the upcoming tournament.
