"We are eagerly awaiting the start of the European Championship and are happy to be in Baku," said Benjamin Boamah, the coach of Norway's TeamGym discipline.
Idman.biz reports that Boamah expressed satisfaction with the pre-competition atmosphere at the National Gymnastics Arena, noting, "The arena is large and spacious, with all the facilities conveniently located nearby. It's a very comfortable place to train and prepare."
Boamah highlighted that preparations for Baku TeamGym began last year: "We started training in May 2023. We aim to showcase our new program in Baku and compete for top positions."
The Norwegian coach also pointed out that the main competition for medals will likely come from Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and Great Britain, whom he sees as the primary favorites.
The European TeamGym Championship starts today and will continue until October 19.
