Seljan Mahsudova: "Cottbus is becoming truly legendary for me" – İDMAN.BİZ

Azerbaijan's leading trampoline gymnast Seljan Mahsudova is preparing for the upcoming World Championships with renewed confidence after an outstanding performance at the final World Cup stage in Cottbus, Germany, where she won two gold medals – in the individual event and in mixed synchronised pairs alongside her brother, Mahsud.

As İdman.Biz reports, Mahsudova told the outlet after the competition that Cottbus had become a lucky city for her.

"I remember qualifying for the Paris Olympics right here, so this city is becoming truly legendary for me! And this year, success found me in Cottbus once again. The result came at just the right moment, and it feels great to win not only individually but also alongside my brother," the trampoline gymnast said.

She added that the result had come at a particularly important time.

"Throughout the season, I had disappointing results at almost every World Cup stage, missing out on finals and medals. I'm glad everything finally came together this time. The two gold medals feel like compensation for the previous setbacks," Mahsudova added.

Seljan also revealed that her individual gold secured her third place in the overall World Cup standings for the current season. Meanwhile, the gold in mixed synchronised trampoline confirmed the duo's first place in the overall rankings.

"That's how it all turned out. I would especially like to thank our national team's head coach, Vladimir Vasilyevich Shulikin, for his hard work, support and everything he does for me. And on November 4, the long-awaited event of the year begins – the World Championships," Mahsudova concluded.
