As part of preparations for the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2025, another training session has been held at the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) for marshals specialized in fire protection and rescue.
The training was organized by the MES Main Operations Department and the Baku City Circuit Operations Company, Idman.biz reports.
The purpose of the training was to enhance the skills and experience of marshals to effectively prevent and respond to fires and their consequences during the races.
Nearly 200 marshals participated in the training, which included both theoretical and practical components. Of these, 60 were professional firefighters and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In the theoretical part, presentations were given by the Baku City Circuit’s fire marshal team to strengthen the participants’ knowledge and skills regarding fire safety, prevention of possible incidents, and the organization of rescue operations.
During the practical session, MES professionals visually demonstrated the correct use and handling of special fire safety and rescue equipment.
These types of training sessions, which began in July of this year, have now been held three times. Several more are planned in the coming months.
The next Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held in the capital, Baku, from September 19–21. During the event, more than 30 units of special MES equipment and nearly 400 personnel are expected to be deployed.
