British teenager Freddie Slater set for Formula 1 debut with Audi

British racing driver Freddie Slater is set to make his Formula 1 race weekend debut with Audi, taking another important step in his motorsport career.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the 18-year-old will drive the German team's car during the first free practice sessions at the Mexico City and São Paulo Grands Prix.

Slater is a member of Audi's young driver development program. He competed for Trident in Formula 3 this season, finishing second in the drivers' championship standings.

The British prospect is expected to move up to Formula 2 in 2027, joining Invicta Racing as he continues his progression through the junior categories.

His upcoming Formula 1 practice appearances will provide valuable experience behind the wheel of a top-level racing car and allow him to work closely with Audi's engineers in a competitive Grand Prix environment.

Slater will have the opportunity to drive at two different circuits, gaining experience under varying track conditions. However, his participation will be limited to the opening practice sessions, with Audi making no announcement regarding any involvement in qualifying or the main races.

The opportunity represents another significant milestone for the young driver as he aims to establish himself as a future Formula 1 contender.
