Lewis Hamilton has been urged to “calm down” by Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur after the seven-time Formula 1 champion aired his frustrations following a difficult Las Vegas Grand Prix, Idman.Biz reports.
Hamilton endured a forgettable weekend in Sin City, qualifying last and initially finishing tenth before being promoted to eighth following McLaren’s double disqualification. Speaking candidly after the race, the 40-year-old expressed his disappointment with both the weekend and the season, calling it “the worst season ever” and saying he is “looking forward to it ending.”
While Vasseur sympathizes with Hamilton’s frustrations, he believes the F1 star’s comments were somewhat excessive. “To jump out of the car and make the first comment, it’s always a bit too much,” he said. Vasseur emphasized the need to focus on upcoming races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, pointing out that Hamilton showed promising pace in Friday practice sessions.
The Ferrari chief urged the seven-time champion to channel his energy into preparation for the final two rounds of the season rather than dwelling on setbacks, stressing that starting from 20th place inevitably complicates a race weekend. Hamilton’s Las Vegas display serves as a reminder of the challenges he faces as he seeks to finish the 2025 season on a high note.
