Neftchi has formalized its relationship with its new foreign player.
Idman.biz, citing Sportinfo.az, reports that the signing is Ifeanyi Matthew, a former midfielder of Nigeria's U-20 national team.
The free agent successfully passed his medical examination in Baku and has signed a two-year contract (1+1).
The 28-year-old, who most recently played for Swiss club Zurich, previously represented Norway's Lillestrom and Turkiye's Osmanlispor.
Matthew moved to Europe from Nigeria in 2016 and has since played for several clubs across the continent. His last appearance on the field was on February 2.
