UEFA Champions League group stage draw completed

Yesterday, the draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage took place.

The competition will kick off on September 16, Idman.biz reports.

"Bodo/Glimt" (Norway), "Kairat" (Kazakhstan), "Pafos" (Cyprus), and "Union Saint-Gilloise" (Belgium) will make their debut in the Champions League group/league stage.

“Kairat,” based in Almaty, is the easternmost team to have ever qualified for the tournament’s main stage.

Meanwhile, “Bodo/Glimt,” representing the city of Bodo near the Arctic Circle, will become the northernmost club in Europe to compete in the Champions League.

This also marks the first time since the 2007/08 season that a Norwegian club will participate in the tournament’s main stage. Additionally, for the first time since the 2005/06 season, no Ukrainian club has qualified for the group/league stage.

"Qarabag" will face Chelsea (a), Liverpool (h), Eintracht (a), Benfica (h), Ajax (a), Napoli (h), Copenhagen (a), and Athletic Bilbao (h) in the Champions League.
