"Qarabag" has reached an agreement with Lorient forward Sambou Soumano.
Idman.biz, citing Sportinfo.az, reports that the Senegalese striker has been offered a 3+1 year contract.
Soumano, who scored in Lorient’s Ligue 1 second-round match against Rennais, is under contract until next summer.
His market value on Transfermarkt is €2.5 million, and the Agdam club is ready to pay compensation to Lorient for the African forward.
The French side has already been informed, and the outcome of the negotiations should be known within 3–4 days.
The 24-year-old striker is also on the radar of Sunderland, Brentford, Burnley in England, and Celtic in Scotland. Unlike the English Premier League clubs, Celtic and Qarabag are already holding official talks with Lorient.
There has been a new development in the transfer negotiations. Reportedly, Celtic’s elimination by Kairat in the Champions League playoff round has directly influenced Soumano’s decision. He has already accepted Qarabag’s offer and agreed on personal terms.
During the summer transfer window, the "Qarabag" have already made five signings:
- Dani Bolt (Torreense, Portugal)
- Pedro Bicalho (Alverca, Portugal)
- Chris Kouakou (Mafra, Portugal)
- Samy Mmaee (Dinamo Zagreb, on loan)
- Joni Montiel (Rayo Vallecano, Spain).
